Date of Hike: 3/15/08
Trail Conditions: Trail hard packed snow with good snow bridges. Off trail post hole to knee or above. Summit icy with 12" drifts. Top of Holt Trail closed to to avalanche danger.
Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes useful for traction on top, required if off trail. Crampons - carried but not used.
Comments: Shem Valley Rd to AMC Lodge was snow covered and front wheel drive car could not get over without pushing. Snow melted during the day and return trip was uneventful.
