Trails: Sawyer River Rd, Signal Ridge Tr
Trail Conditions: Dry Trail, 10-12" monorail, 0-8" melting snow, slush and standing water on Signal Ridge. All river crossings were easily rock hopped.
Recommended Equipment: Light Traction
Comments: I was worried after reading the TRs from Friday that I would need snowshoes at some point but decided to leave them at home. The trail was nicely packed and microspikes were all that was needed. I saw a few people using snowshoes but it seemed a bit bony for the most part IMO. Only post holed twice but they were only ankle deep. The trail changed from dry to monorail at about 3000', near the start of the long traverse. We had the summit to ourselves for almost an hour. I saw no fresh tracks on the Desolation Tr.
