trails: piper trail, middle sister trail
conditions: trailhead bathroom facilities closed due to gov't shutdown. other than one muddy spot right at the bottom of the piper trail the going was dry the whole way. trails were in excellent shape.
equipment: nothing in particular.
comments: having only summited chocorua once back in winter of 2005 when it was so windy i could barely stand at the summit much less take it all in i figured it was time for a visit where i could stop and enjoy the scenery. nice color in the valleys and stunning views to the rest of the whites. great hike.
