Karen and I basically followed what Bryan posted on the 19th. Went in about a mile on LP Rd, and then, where some rocks block an old logging rd started up in a NE direction. Very open woods. A couple of small sprucy sections and a couple of small blow down fields. Pretty easy whack. Some views to the south, west (into VT) and of course Moose. Even caught a look through on the top to Franconia Ridge.
After clearing the top and entering the hardwoods on the descent we went west to the rd for the exit, which was quicker.
To update what Bryan found. The woods were dry and snow was very minimal and never an issue. Even a couple of days makes a difference.
We attempted this from Tunnel Brook this winter and turned back at 2800'. This route even in winter would be much easier.
Highly recommend it if you need Clough for NHHH.
Parking- room for maybe two cars before the gate(off to side).
Would be a good hike for dogs with the only problem being no water after you start the whack.
Thanks Bryan for the great route.
