Trail Conditions: muddy and somewhat damp after showers the prior day. Some extra care required on descent, but we had no problems. We had some trepidation about the ladders after reading the guidebook, but we found them easily manageable.

Special Equipment Required: gore tex boots, gaiters, trekking poles

Comments: stunning views from this summit - Algonquin, Colden Lake, Flowed Lands and Avalanche Pass on one side, and Marcy, Gray, Skylight, and countless other high peaks on the other. Partly cloudy skies gave way to full sun during our two and a half hour picnic on the summit. Thank you to Virginia, Pat, Mary Ann, Kathy, Norm and Tim. Photos www.pbase.com/jonathantr
