On Friday Donna wanted to hike Scar Ridge for her list so Rebecca and I decided to join her on this adventure. As Bob(Frank) and Mike (Mtnpa) were going over our route on the map and checking the compass for us, I think Mtnpa decided he maybe should hike with us.....
I'm sure he felt very comfident in our bushwack skills, or was he thinking he didn't want a call later????
Shizzy was hiking Eisenhower and he was going to hike with him originally.
Well off we went to the Kanc, walked to the start and put our snowshoes on. We hiked down to the river and no matter up or down that river wasn't to be crossed that day. The water was flowing fast and wasn't frozen enough to cross, looked like the water had risen over the ice. Well it was a nice snowshoe. Off to Half Baked Fully Brewed for our second option...hmmm
Decision was easy, we'd go rescue Shizzy from a lonely hike on Eisenhower. A quick call to Mtnma with new plan and off we go. Up Crawford Path and over to Eisenhower was a refreshing and enjoyable hike. The trees were covered in a light snow and the trail was packed. We did put traction on when we started across to Eisenhower from Pierce as the trail was icy.
Met up with Sean as he was coming down off the summit and saw his look of surprise as he had no idea he needed a rescue....
Us girls visited shortly and then continued off for the summit as Juniper needed it for a winter peak. Mike stayed a little longer visiting (men say how us girls talk)
After dropping our packs we were on the summit in no time with a raw cold wind blowing that didn't make us want to stay very long. Pictures and down we went and Juniper and Donna headed to Pierce for another Winter peak. I lagged along slowly waiting for Mike to come down off Eisenhower and hiked down for a while with him.
Hike down was loads of fun with lots of boot skiing..
A great fun hike with Rebecca, Donna, Mike & Sean@!!
Thanks guys for doing a fun B-day hike!!
