Trail: Jerusalem Trail to Long Trail
Conditions: Dry, hot and humid, an annoying horse fly or two
Comments: My car's GPS didn't have the town of Jerusalem on it so we were glad for a good, old fashioned state map. The trail is interesting in that it climbs steadily through a maple syrap farm, with plastic piping running here, there, and everywhere. The steeps near the top were not as steep as I had expected given our experience on the Laura Clowes Trail two weeks earlier. Nice streatch along the Long Trail with one tree to climb over and two to do the dance moves under. We appreciated the chair lift having left a seat available for sitting and enjoying the view, nice despite the haze.
Met some nice people and their four-legged pals along the way. One man seemed like a regular on the trail (maintainer, perhaps?) and we found a lone black Smart Wool sock where he had been parked. It's now on top of the signpost as you enter the woods.
