As indicated in the current WMG, the trail to Mt. Evans from Route 2 has been closed. However, you can still visit this tiny 1443 foot summit by trekking up the east slope via a bushwhack off the Rattle River Trail through open hardwoods. But PLEASE NOTE, this trek should be done completely on WMNF land, and should only be attempted if you have prior off-trail experience using map & compass.
