Couldn't believe there were only two other cars parked in the lot. We had a late start and expected to find it crowded. One of us wore Hillsounds, the other wore Microspikes. Soon discovered new Hillsound had failed already. Took repair supplies out and made a temp fix with bungies, the kind with balls. Trail was in great shape. Hard ice covered with some newer snow. Snow was falling so depths increased to 6"+ over crust. Snow showers up high zero views. But what a nice and underrated winter hikes. We heard an owl call our name!
