Trail Conditions: Road covered in hard snow. Trail has bare ground and ice at bottom and areas where water ran through. Hard packed snow elsewhere. One blowdown to walk around or climb over. Another blowdown through which a tunnel has been cut. Water crossings manageable, but not easy.

Special Equipment Required: Some traction needed. Four used crampons, one spikes, and another Stabilicers. Crampons overkill between road and where real snow starts, but who wants to take them off only to put them back on again.

Comments: Clear skies and hardly any wind. No hat or jacket for me on top. A gorgeous day.
