Great day on the trail. No snow, some wet spots in the usual places on the Garfield trail, water crossings easy rock hopping. There were icy patches at higher elevations, mostly avoidable. Expect more ice as the temps continue to drop. The last .2 mile spur was very icy, I used microspikes to finish. Possible to bare boot, but tricky. Kept the spikes on the way down for about a mile, for easier walking. Fantastic day on top, bright sun shining on the pemi, views forever. A bonus late fall hike, ready for snow!!! Sorry, should add road was open, plenty of parking
