"Bushwhack" to trailhead was well-packed with good footing, as were the North Twin Trail and herd path to the start of the FWT. FWT had a hard, uneven snow surface with increasing snowshoe postholes (from Sunday) with elevation. Our passage smoothed things out somewhat but the upper mile will remain tedious until some new snow falls. The minor crossings are all easy. One blowdown on the herd path.
We wore snowshoes for stability. Barebooting was less pleasant on the uneven snow.
Beautiful,as always. Limited views but the woods are the highlight of this trip, anyway.
