A small group will be climbing Mt Hayes in Gorham NH on Sat 11/25 via the AT (Centenial Trail) starting at 9:30 AM tommorrow. The hike down the moutain can vary, with a possible side trip to the view point above Mascot Pond. There should be a good long distance view of the new windfarm from the summit area and as usual an excellent albeit unusual view of the northern Presidentials. Estimated round trip length is 7 to 8 miles. We are in no rush.
Traction is required to be carried as there is ice in spots under the new snow fall. Its Hunting season so orange is recomended.
The hike starts at 9:30 AM at the trailhead at the intersection of Hogan Road and the North road in Shelburne NH. From the west take RT 2 east out of Gorham NH and drive until you pass a Reflection Pond on you left. About 1/2 a mile past the pond take a left onto North Road. Cross the river adjacent to the Hydro dam and drive 1/4 of a mile to the trailhead.
I would appreciate it if you let me know you are coming
