Date of Hike: Sat. 12-12-09
Trails: Rocky Branch, Engine Hill Bushwhack, Isolation Tr., Upper Bushwhack, Davis Path.
There were 10 of us today, part of Ed Hawkins and Jim Towle's AMC group. We broke trail all the way to the summit in deep snow. The snow became deeper the higher in elevation. We made only the last crossing which was no problem. No real blowdowns to be concerned about. Snowshoes a necessity, other traction not needed.
We left a great snowshoe track for whomever wants to follow it until the next snowstorm covers it up.
High winds today, but being in the trees for most of the hike it really wasn't that bad.
All in all a great hike with a great group.
