We took Rocky Branch to Isolation Trail to Davis Path.
The was an AMC trip. All the trails were in wonderful condition before the nine of us went up, and we were all in snow shoes, along with two gents who had brought in sleds, and four other hikes, one of whom was Matts Roeing. So the trails are in really nice condition right now.
Took the bushwack cutoff, which began just beyond the height of land and helped us avoid the first two crossings. Actually, I believe the only tracks we saw were on the cutoff. Evidence of moose, a couple of small critters, and rabbit tracks everywhere.
Absolutely stunning views from the summit. No winds at all, clear skies, nice temps once the sun came up, but -10 in the car driving over!
If you've been planning on doing Isolation, this is the time to do it, and the trails are so good you could bareboot them at this point.
Brian
p.s. Matts was racing out and back so he could do Owlshead afterward. Crazy man!
