Started out a beautiful sunny day hiking up Glen Boulder with Bob from NH & Irene from NYC. This is a well marked trail in good condition. When we got above treeline the views were spectacular. Unfortunately the wind was so fierce I had to hold onto the rocks hiking up, and change into winter hiking clothes. As we ascended even further, we ran into winter hiking conditions. Perhaps 4 inches or more of snow on the trail, poor visibility, and a strong wind making it quite cold. We went down Davis and eventually the weather changed back to an fall day. The views from Mt. Isolation were poor. We decided to go back by Rocky Branch. Extremely wet and muddy! The river crossings were not hard. Rocky Branch is not a hard hike but it took forever with the condition it was in. Many thanks to Steve, from Bartlett, who drove us to our cars at the parking lot for Glen Boulder! I did it!!
