Date of Hike: Thur. Mar. 25, 2010
Trails: Webster/Jackson Trail
2 inches of fresh snow over a firm base to about 4 inches near the summit. Started in spikes, but soon switched to snow shoes for much better traction. Some old post holes, but no problems getting around them. Trail was pretty well filled in, but no problems finding the route. The last 1/4 mile is a whack. I went up to the right of the summit through some scrub. Icy with a snow covering. Off the summit I followed the actual trail down off the cone but soon lost the trail and whacked over to the left about 50 yds. to pick up the trail I came in on. A couple on snow shoes came in after me, so the trail should be packed, frozen, and trackable by tomorrow morning.
