Trail Conditions: Slushy and icy in spots
Special Equipment Required: Microspikes or Snowshoes, Crampons - overkill, but okay.
Comments: Gorgeous trip on a great sunny and *really* warm day. Trail is slushy from TH to the top. Some spots were more icy but overall the trail is navigable by microspikes alone. No postholing occurred in our party. We were 4, 2 in snowshoes and 2 in microspikes. Microspikes crew had a better time because the trail had some narrow sections of ice and rock where snowshoe people had to scramble. Despite that, both crews kept their equipment from car to car.
