Date of Hike: 4/2/10
Trail Conditions: Soft, softening, wet granular snow.
Special Equipment Required: Snowshoes and gaiters. I did manage to get most of the way up without post-holing on microspikes, while my friend trailed me in snowshoes, but once we were at treeline the snow got super soft and I started to sink waist-deep every few steps. I'd had enough and put the shoes on. I still post-holed a bit even then. By the time we were coming down, the snow had softened even more. Snowshoes are a MUST here right now.
Comments: Trail sort of wanders off vaguely about 1/4 mile from the summit. We more or less bushwhacked it, and bushwhacked down a slightly different way. I wouldn't advise that you follow our tracks, just find your own way, on the trail if possible. During the descent we met two other groups on the way up, I don't know what route they ended up taking at the top...
