Trail Conditions: Snow on the Old Bridle Path really begins as you approach Walker Brook about 1/3 from the start. We had to walk on top and on the side of the "snow spine." Our feet would slide walking on the "snow spine" so we found trekking poles helpful. There is snow up to the summit from the Greenleaf Hut but we managed by stepping on rocks. There were some icy spots as we hiked further up and we thought about putting on micro-spikes but never did.
Special Equipment Required: Barebooted. Trekking poles helpful and we could have put on Micro-spikes but never did.
Comments: Periods of drizzle and hail further up. Saw quite a few people despite the weather conditions. Everyone was bare-booting. Someone was in Greenleaf Hut stocking supplies and he allowed us in for lunch. Welcome shelter for this kind of day.
