Bike path from Basin lot had about 6" of loose snow. Liberty Springs Trail had a consistent 6-8" of unconsolidated snow throughout, unbroken on our ascent. FRT had similar conditions with wind-packed snow near the summit. Crossings were all bridged and the trails were free of blowdowns.
Snowshoes were best for the conditions but the going was clunky with rocks under the loose snow. Bare-booting will be an option until new snow now that it's broken out.
Comfortable but overcast day with pretty snow covered trees and some limited views to Lafayette. Fun day.
