Conditions: Trail is in great shape. Well broken out, firmly packed snow, and no post holes.
Special Equipment Required: Although the trail is very well packed and broken out, snowshoes are very useful for traction, especially on the steeper sections of this trail. Trekking poles are also quite helpful to have.
Comments: This hike provides a really ‘big bang’ for a modest amount of time and effort. And, given the choice of hiking this trail in the summer versus the winter, personally prefer winter when all the ‘lumps & bumps’ are smoothed out by well packed snow.
