Valley Way was well packed with an icy crust in some stretches, particularly higher up. Some deeper drifted soft snow in the upper half mile or so. Osgood to summit was generally well packed snow with some ice. No evidence of any of the tributary trails having been recently broken, including Air Line. No bad blowdowns or crossing issues.
We wore snowshoes up until a bit below Upper Bruin and then switched to crampons to deal with the icy crust along the slabbing trail. We were able to bare boot down with some softening, but not deep, snow near the bottom.
Beautiful day with a few enthusiastic fellow hikers on the mountain, including Bruce who was finishing his winter NH 4K's. Congrats!! Sorry to scoop you folks on the post but wanted to get it out there for people.
