A bit tardy in posting this, but here's my trip report of a semi-loop outing to climb Mt Madison last Sunday (the 10th). We ascended via Osgood Ridge and descened via the Daniel Webster Trail. Surprisingly to me, we had to break trail pretty much the entire way up and the entire way down. Looked like no sign of human activity for at least a week. The 1000 feet of ascent in the alpine zone is indeed quite beautiful in winter!
So, as of last Sunday, there is/was a decent track on both of these trails. There were a few blowdowns on the mid-section of the Daniel Webster trail, very little on the Osgood Ridge Trail / Osgood Cutoff Trail.
