Mt. Major update

I posted about a week ago on planning a trip to Mt. Major. I plan to hike this Satuday the 16th. Has conditions changed there e.g. snow, rain? If its bad to go hiking there, I plan to hike Grand Manadnock, how's the conditons there? Thanks for info for the previous post.

It would probably depend largely on the exposure. South facing trails are probably clear. I was on Pack Mondanock yesterday and there was still quite a bit of snow. I approached from the north, but the saddle between North and South was clear. Check the guidebook and look for a trail on the south side of the mountain, I would recommend.

Carole,
I did make it up there on the 16th of this month. The views were spectacular! There was snow close the summit which made it muddy in spots. I found it to be good opener to this years hiking season. Thanks for your help.
