Mt.Mansfield traverse - LT/Haseltine trail
7/25
Trail Conditions: Wet. Some trails were brooks. A lot of fun, no really.
Special Equipment Required: Water, sunscreen (oops forgot it).
Comments: Well once a year I take a day trip to Northern Vt to either do Camels Hump or Mansfield.
This means a really early start. Up at 3am. On the trail at 8. Climbing the Chin at 10. It was a perfect day. The torents of water coming down the trail only added to the day, and was very cooling at times. This time I went as far as the Forehead. Thought taking the Haseltine trail would be an easy way down. NO!! More roaring brooks, but now it seemed slippery. No slips or falls though, good thing. Wish that rock was in my backyard, I'd be in better shape.
