trails: cherry mountain trail
conditions: parking lot off 115 had a couple inches of snow that posed no problems for parking. a couple inches of fresh powder over a bit of a base at the start of the trail that had been booted out to the summit. a little bony in the final steeper ascent to the ridge, but pretty nice overall. a bit more snow up on the ridgeline to the summit.
equipment: we wore snowshoes the whole hike. could certainly be booted or spiked, but enough coverage for snowshoes.
comments: nice second hike after the randolphs in the morning. the views from the summit were phenomenal with the clear skies. thanks to cynthia for a great day of hiking in the cold.
