Had a great trip on Mondanock this past Friday with GlennS. Couldn't have asked for nicer weather. Great 360 degree views all around but there was just a little bit of haze so it wasn't quite perfect.
We didn't make the summit as this was my first time hiking in the past 15 years. We basically made a loop when we got to the Red Spot. Total mileage was roughly 5.45 mi.
Ascent - Cascade Link and Pumpelly
No traction was needed and trail wasn't very wet at all. Still a bit of snow and ice on the ground in spots near the ledges. Very nice ascent trail.
Descent - Red Spot
The Red Spot was very wet but didn't seem to have the same amount of ice that the Cascade Link had. By the time we began our descent in the afternoon, the ice and snow we did find had softened quite a bit.
