Saturday 31 Jul 2010, trail is in great shape all the way to Norcross Pond (4 miles), alot of work has been completed on new trail around Norcross pond because of the Beaver Dam Lots of new Bog Bridges in place at both ponds. You won't get a wet/muddy foot the whole way unless you fall in
The unmaintained trail from Norcross Pond up Mt Nancy, is also in good shape with a few blow downs. Just take a right at the small NO Camping Sign when you get to the end of Norcross Pond, then take a left at the immediate fork in trail. You will see a sign stating its an unmaintained trail about 100 ft in? Follow this over to slide area, and stay onto trail to the right of the slide. This is a very very steep narrow trail all the way to the top. Easy path to follow, just steep with lots of trees to hold onto.
One of our best hikes for senery, and jaw dropping beauty, lots of pay off with this hike. Cascading water falls, wilderness ponds, beaver dam, lush green forest meadows, and mountain views in all directions
Equipment Needed: (If its nice weather) Camera, Bathing Suit, Lunch
Poles and Daypack.
