A'yup, you are good to go. Still in decent shape, just watch out for that turn at the top of the slide which has a fallen (but needlesss) spruce tree across it so it is a bit easy to miss. Other than that We had little problem following the herd path, and I think there was only one or two "tight" spots because of blowdowns.

Thanks NewHampshire...some posts recommend avoiding the slide all to gether and staying on the steep herd path to the right, so i'm not sure which turn you are referring to. Also, how are the bugs in the mountains right now? Appreciate your help, thanks, ctsparrow

The path does skirt the slide, but both get you to where you need to go. Basically you get to choose if you want to climb up the slide (which is really short anyways) or not by staying closer to the woods. At the top of the slide is a hard right that takes you into the woods continuing the herd path and runs fairly level for about 50 or more yards before starting it's steep climb again.

Thanks Brian, is the canister still MIA? Heading there Sat from what it looks like. I came through the area after Vose Spur a few years ago but didn't have the energy to climb it, i love that area so i'm excited to return, wish it was abit drier than i anticipate it to be, but the waterfalls will be a welcome rest site on the way. ctsparrow...sue

Sadly the cannister is still lost to the spruce god's :(. But there is a nice little view point on the summit that is lovely. If, while on the viewpoint, you look directly behind you on one of the trees you can see part of the old bracket the cannister used to be connected to.
