Trail is still well-packed bottom-to-top but was softening as the day warmed up. Snow Bridge across stream at mill site is still solid. Several humbling blowdowns and lots of face salad up high with the deep snow. Snow is deep enough to cover all the familiar trail landmarks such as the ledges near the top.
While snowshoes adorned our packs, we wore Microspike ST's all day and they were ideal in the varying conditions. Snowshoes will likely be needed with a couple more warm days.
Interesting day which started with bright sun and ended with a leaden sky and the feel of an impending storm. Nice views to the Presidentials from the upper viewpoint.
