Mt. Pierce via Crawford Connector and Crawford Path
Date of Hike: Friday, October 30, 2008
Trail Conditions: Ice, snow, wet trail
Special Equipment Required: Traction (Stablicers or Yaktrax would have been inadequate this morning, but Microspikes were perfect)
Comments:
Dusting of snow starting at the parking lot. Crawford Connector had a few slippery places, but appeared to be warming up upon descent.
I needed Microspikes starting around Gibbs Falls. Significant portions of the trail were covered in ice from frozen runoff - I don't think Stablicers would have been able to grip enough in a few places.
About an inch of snow starting at the Mitzpah junction. 1-2" once out of the trees, drifts up to 4" on the Webster Cliff Trail.
