Conditions okay from Shannon Pond to the summit of Mt. Shaw. We encountered a few muddy spots and one ice patch. Summit was colder than anticipated. Upper Shannon Brook trail is seriously damaged and roped off (looks like flooding).

Parked at the upper lot near the Castle Springs bottling plant as the Castle in the Clouds access road is closed for the season (though the Castle was open to the public for a Christmas event today). Many hunters and hikers out today.
