mt shaw, black snout and turtleback mt, via high ridge trail, black snout trail and turtleback mt trail. a few black files down bottom, but not munchin yet. some light patches of snow on north sides of upper slopes. frost is just leaving trails and even though they look good at first glance, it gets a little mushy in spots. like mini post holling in mud. trails are all good with very few obstacles. do not wear sneakers, too wet. wear some good water proof boots and you will be rewarded with fine views of this conservation area from each peak. some litter on top of mt shaw. too bad some people just don't get it. overall a wonderful day. 12 mile round trip, 1800 ft elevation. d&d
