Trail Conditions: Wet leaves, slippery rocks, lots of mud and water!
Equipment Needed: Poles were a big help, waterproof boots,
Comments: 8 friends joined Cymbidium and me as we finished our 52 wav today on Mt. Success. Success Pond Road takes great care due to innumerable rocks and holes....don't try to drive your Prius up this road! We parked in the field at the end of the right fork 5.4 miles from the start of Success Pond Rd. Clear day but windy for the most part and cool. Care needed up and down the trail due to the wet conditions underfoot. New bog bridges were much appreciated though the wood was slippy in parts and there was some black ice nearer the top. After peaking we went down to find the remains of the DC3 plane crash and were all impressed by the remains. A quick break for a snack before we headed back down getting out with just one shower on the way down. Celebrated with hot tea and hot cocoa and yummy cookies!
