The first two water crossing are open but fairly easily crossed. The third has a snow bridge that was fairly substantial. The trail was well consolidated. There were a few post holes on the edges of the trail but basically it was in good shape. Skiers and boarders have been using the trail on the steep section coming down out of the woods to pick up the trail and exiting at the spot where the short spur trail goes out to the slopes. This section has a lot of unconsolidated powder that is not deep but made it difficult to get traction with snowshoes. The Sosman trail over to the ski slopes has not been recently broken out.

Snowshoes will prevent postholes but the steep section might be more easily negotiated with crampons or stableicers. The mini sleds would work on long portions of this trail.

We met a solo hiker-boarder at the top. We left at the same time. At the point where the trail touches the slopes we continued down the slopes. We must have made pretty good time because we arrived at the bottom at almost the same time as the snow boarder we had met at the top.

I did this peak today (Sun.) I actually found easier traction with my snowshoes in the snowboard area than I did further up on the trail. Took a couple of spills and butt slid for a while. It looked like a snowboard or 2 continued down the hiking trail all the way to the parking lot. While probably illegal I was glad to have better traction on that section as I didn't fall after reaching the snowboarded area. My very first winter 4K. Great day to be out!

Since posting I found out that it was BC Boarder that I met at the top. I believe he went over Sosman to the ski summit so that trail should now be broken out. I really wished I had had a sled for going down the trail and the slopes. It would have been a lot of fun. :D
