Trail had been broken in deep snow to the Sosman intersection by a skier and a couple of snowshoers. For the short segment above (we took the Sosman branch to the summit), the trail was unbroken and a workout. Trail is now well broken throughout by the procession of hikers/skiers who ascended after we did. No blowdowns; crossings are mellow.
We wore snowshoes car-to-car, highly advised.
Lovely day in the woods with enough work to make the drive worthwhile. Nice to meet Big Earl et al and Kevin (hope I got that right) and to chat with the couple from Vermont at the beginning of their quest for the 4K's in one winter.
