Date of Hike: 5/3/08
Trail Conditions: Trail was muddy at the bottom, for perhaps the first quarter or third of the trail. Once crossing the stream to the eastern side of the slope, there was a lot of snow on the trail.
Special Equipment Required: Fortunately, the main trail was well-traveled and nicely packed down. We bare-booted it and did not posthole unless straying off of the trail, but traction devices would have been very helpful. Crampons probably would have too, but snowshoes would likely have been overkill (we saw people carrying them but not using them).
