Mt. Tecumseh via ski trails and Tecumseh Trail
Date of Hike: Thursday, April 17, 2008
Trail Conditions: Spring snow
Special Equipment Required: None, those some might want Stablicers.
Comments:
Ski trails from base to the first viewpoint on the Tecumseh Trail are barebootable (packed spring snow). From the view point to the top skier entrance to the Tecumseh Trail is also easily barebooted, as its well packed. Above that, if you stay on the snow monorail, it's barebootable. Step off the monorail if you want a postholy surprise!
About half a dozen blowdowns between the top skier entrance and the summit, none too bad (walk under).
No water on the trail via this route. Ski trails 1-3' of base, Tecumseh Trail probably 2-4' of base.
Viewpoint on the summit is particularly strong due to snowpack. Mosquitos are out (though not yet biting)!
