Date of hike: 12/29/09
Trails: Avalon, AZ and Mt. Tom Spur.
Conditions: 12 inches of new unbroken powder dictated snowshoes round trip.
The trail is in good condition no serious blowdowns as of this Tues Hike. All but the widest stream crossing held up well by days end and I suspect that that one will be refrozen by now.
Despite the sub zero temps and high windchills our group of 4 had a most enjoyable time.
Do your part and use your snow shoes whenever possible... post holes can turn ankles!!!
