Date of Hike: Saturday 9/5/09
Full route: ascent-from Pinkham Notch to the summit via Tuckerman Ravine, Huntington Ravine, and Nelson Crag. descent-back down Nelson Crag to Alpine Garden to Lion Head to Tuckerman's and back to Pinkham.
Trail Conditions: dry. No blowdowns. One easy stream crossing on lower section of Huntington Ravine trail.
Special Equipment Required: sunscreen
Comments: an outstanding day to hike the challenging, spectacular Huntington Ravine. Slabs above The Fan are dry after a rain-free week. Breezy and cool near the summit, we broke out hats and gloves for the first time since last spring. Thanks to my comrades-in-arms for a great day.
