Nice shot. The lighting is very nice, the clouds add some nice drama and the changes of colors and textures from the foreground through the intervening series of ridges add nicely to the overall scene. I took the liberty of punching up the saturation and contrast to my taste and cropped out some of the excess blank sky.

I like John L's crop, and the background changes are appealing (except for the color change -- but that may have to do with photo image browser). But too much detail is lost in the foreground. Maybe this can be resolved by using the Shadow/Highlight (or vice versa?) adjustments under the Image menu in Photoshop.

Another little Photoshop trick that works great with winter scenes: Add a Selective Color adjustment layer to your photo (or a select part of the photo)- choose the White band and decrease the yellow content down to whatever your liking might be for the shot. You can also increase the blue content in the white band by a tad to give the snow a bit of a blue-sky tinge. (This trick with the yellow works great for teeth and eyes adjustments in portraiture as well).
