Date of Hike: Thur. 02-11-10
Trails: Starr King Tr.
About 2" of loose snow this morning. Someone was on the trail, probably yesterday, stirred it up some. Used snow shoes the whole way to smooth it out a bit. Several in snow shoes after me, so the trail in nicely packed all the way to Waumbek. Could be bare booted.
Trail splits in the col between Starr King and Waumbek. Stay right. No blow-downs. Parking at the memorial pull off next to the Irving Station or at the hikers field parking across the road from Starr King Rd.
Overcast with spitting snow, but mild temps and not a breath of wind.
Nice meeting up with Doug Hunt on the trail again and Pat Murphy.
