What a truly amazing and inspiring day!!!!! Team Darwin began the trip at 9 am at the Starr King trail head. The hike up was smooth and uneventful. The summit of Starr King was truly unique. We enjoyed the summit for approximately 15 mins and made our way to the summit of Waumbek for our flag raising memorial to 9/11. The col between Starr King and Waumbek was a little muddy, but very enjoyable. Getting to the summit of Waumbek was quite a treat. A nice place to relax and reflect on the happenings of 9/11. We then raised the flag with some help from some very nice people that we met at the summit We had some really amazing people stop by while we were on the summit. Shortly after us, team pokey which usually hikes Waumbek for 9/11 showed up at the summit, baby and all. They brought a flag, just incase,so we raised their flag too 
This was #1 for Barefoot girl,#1 for trooper,#5 for TheInventor,#2 for Deputy and #24 for me. It was nice to meet everybody at the Mooseland after our hike! What a great event with a great cause! Nice to see you again post'rboy and michelle, Hope to see you around soon!
