Drove up Old Mountain Road ~.2 mi from Perch Pond Road and parked at wide turnaround. The rest of the road up to the ridgeline was badly eroded with water running down much of it. The Crawford-Ridgepole Trail was mostly dry, with some wet spots and several blowdowns. After lots of up and a few downs, we got to the S end of the long contour where a good herd path led to a ledgy area with cairn which apparently the AMC WMG considers to be the summit of Mt Webster - note however that this is .3 mi S of the 2076 spot elevation and the GPS showed it lower by 10' than several wooded bumps farther N in the contour that we bushwhacked to.
