I began the hike with Microspikes and kept them on for the entire trek. This type of traction device was perfect for the trail conditions which generally consisted of an underlayment of ice with a few inches of compacted snow on top.
There were no blowdowns. All water crossings were ice-bridged.
All the trails were well-broken out. I opted not to take the Webster-Cliff Trail from Mt Webster and go on over to Mt Jackson. However, I could see that the trail was well tramped out from hiker traffic, and met one hiker who had just come from Mt Jackson and reported that the trail was broken out between Mts. Webster and Jackson.
My BLOG has a few snapshots from this trek.
