The trail is in very good condition. There is a bit of mud near the beginning otherwise it is dry. There are no hindering blowdowns.
The conditions were perfect today. It was misting lightly in Bridgton when I left home, but the sky turned blue as we went over the top of the Kanc. The ledges were all dry.
We took the spur herd trail to the open ledges off Mt. Dickey. That is a detour well worth the small effort. A very small amount of bushwhacking was required to get over to the ledges but it wasn't that difficult and it turned out to be one of the best spots on the whole hike. The views were fantastic, and it was calm and peaceful. We had an early 11:00 AM lunch then continued on.
We were the second car in the parking lot. When we got back there were at least 20 cars. Everyone must head in the counter clockwise direction because we saw very few people today.
