Trails: Blueberry Ledge Tr, Rollins Tr, Dicey's Mill Tr

Special Equipment: Snowshoes

A random group of four of us headed up the Bluebery Ledge Tr to the summit of Mt Whiteface. The wind was whipping but the sun was bright and warm. The ledges were covered in drifted snow and IMO seemed easier than in the summer. We headed across the Rollins Tr packing down some snow drifts along the way. There are a few spots where care should be used along the Rollins Tr as the trail itself is very narrow with a steep drop to the side into the bowl. There is also a tangled mess of large blowdowns about half way through. They have been limbed but it is still a bit tricky to navigate with snowshoes. We were almost to Dicey's Mill Tr and talking about how nicely Rollins was getting packed when, guess what, here come the barebooters! They must not know how much easier snowshoes make the walking as opposed to postholing and slipping all around. Oh well. We then took Dicey's to the summit of Passaconaway and then followed it back down to Ferncroft. There was no sign of recent traffic along McCrillis Tr, Kate Sleeper Tr, East Loop, Passaconaway's north outlook spur, or Walden Tr after the NE outlook.
