Mt. Whiteface, NH, Mt. Passaconaway, NH
Blueberry Ledge Trail -> Rollins Trail -> Dicey Mills Trail
Date of Hike: Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008
Trail Conditions: Packed powder
Special Equipment Required: Traction necessary for ledges below Whiteface, snowshoes needed for windblown areas
Comments: Plowed all the way to beginning of woods portion of trail. Blueberry Ledge Trail generally well broken out, though extended portions were windblown beyond identification. Ledges tricky due to powder. A few blow downs below the ledges, including one that required crawling to get under.
Extended wind blown areas between Whiteface Sleeper Trail and Dicey Mills Trail, but no significant blowdowns. Also some extended wind blown areas on Dicey Mills Trail. Dicey Mills Trail road portion plowed to second to last house (just before field). No notable blowdowns on Dicey Mills Trail.
Dicey Mills visible water crossings - first (small) - hop over, second snow covered log (one snowshoe width), third (near former camp site) very narrow snow bridge (one snowshoe width).
