I was thinking of hiking Whiteface via the Blueberry Ledge and Rollins Trails next weekend and was wondering if anyone had any general information, advice, etc.

I plan to ascend via Blueberry Ledge and Rollins Trails to Whiteface, then continue on Rollins to Mt. Passaconaway, then descend back to the Ferncroft Rd parking area via Dicey's Mill Trail. Overall it's a 10+ mile hike. The WMG guide states Blueberry Ledge Trail can be a bit dangerous in icy conditions, but I'm thinking any ice/snow on that trail will be history by then. Thoughts?

Thanks.

Thinking of doing pretty much the same trip. Looks like "expect anything" will have to be the operating rule. I'm planning on ice, but will probably cut it short if there is more than a few inches of snow past Whiteface.

NOAA says the storm from 4/10 melted off pretty fast, and there's no snow since 4/12, but the trails clear slower than the surrounding terrain.

Thanks for the feedback!

Based on today's weather, that which is forecast for the week, and the amount of snow I've seen on other Sandwich Range mountains on my past few hikes, I have a good feeling it'll be mostly gone if not entirely so. Especially on that south facing trail.

Perhaps I will meet you there... or we can plan on it if that sounds good. If so, do PM me so we can work out the finer points.

Mike
